A full-cycle design project for an online commercial real estate platform — from market analysis, product logic, and prototype structure to the final UI and responsive versions.

Commercial real estate involves significantly more decision-making parameters than residential property. Users need to consider not only the address, area, and price, but also payback period, price per square metre, existing tenants, proximity to metro stations, and other investment-related characteristics.

The challenge was to create a service that brings a large number of listings into one system and allows users to move quickly from a broad search to a relevant property.

The platform needed to support several types of listings — rental businesses, properties for sale, and properties for rent — while remaining clear and accessible to users who do not work with professional real estate systems on a daily basis.

Making Commercial Real Estate Search as Intuitive as Searching for a Home

he work began with an analysis of the real estate market and existing property-search services.
Airbnb was used as one of the key references — not as a visual template, but as an international benchmark for making search across a large number of listings clear and intuitive.

I analysed:

• search-result structure;
• filters;
• property cards;
• the relationship between list and map views;
• information priority when comparing options;
• the journey from the first query to the detailed property page.

International Patterns for a Complex Local Product

After the market analysis, I defined the service structure and created a black-and-white prototype.
The core user journey was built around search:
Property Type → Parameters → Catalogue or Map → Compare Options → Property → Contact

The catalogue view, map search, filtering, and transition to the detailed property page were designed as separate but connected scenarios.

The large number of parameters required a strict information hierarchy: key characteristics needed to be available immediately, while more detailed information was revealed progressively as the user moved deeper into the experience.

Logic First — Visual Layer Second

Alongside the interface, I developed the visual foundation of the brand and the СТРИТ.РФ logo.
Unlike more emotional residential real estate services, this product needed to feel like a practical and professional tool.

The interface is built around light surfaces, restrained typography, and a blue accent colour used for primary actions, navigation, and map data.
The visual language remains intentionally neutral: it supports photography, pricing, and property characteristics without competing with them.

A Neutral Visual Environment for a Data-Driven Product

Search became one of the core parts of the product. Users can work with the catalogue using multiple parameters, including area, price, payback period, tenant, metro station, street, and property location.

At the same time, many users understand real estate spatially first, so the catalogue was complemented by a map-based search.

List view supports consistent comparison of property characteristics. Map view helps users quickly understand location and the distribution of available properties.
Both modes are different representations of the same system and allow users to move between geographic and parameter-based search.

Two Ways to Search for the Same Property

For commercial real estate, a single photograph and price are not enough.
Property cards needed to display the characteristics that directly influence the user’s decision: total price, price per square metre, area, address, metro station, payback period, and other relevant parameters.

The listing card was therefore designed as a compact analytical unit: the photograph creates the first impression, while the supporting data provides enough context to decide whether the property is worth exploring further.

Enough Data to Compare — Without Turning the Card into a Spreadsheet

Once the desktop interface was finalised, responsive versions of the service were developed.
On larger screens, the interface uses the available space to support dense data, filters, and map-based analysis. On mobile, the priorities shift: search, key parameters, and property cards are reorganised into a clear vertical sequence.

Over four months, the product was designed through a complete end-to-end process:
market analysis → structure → prototype → logo → visual system → interface → responsive versions
СТРИТ.РФ became more than a listing catalogue — it developed into a tool for searching and conducting an initial analysis of commercial real estate, with complex characteristics organised into a clear and accessible user journey.
