[NDA] Date is a dating section within a social platform. Dating where connection starts with an action.

Mobile App
[NDA] Date
The goal of the product is to create an ecosystem for dating and active connections, so that after the first contact users have a way to act on their intentions: send flowers, suggest date ideas, choose a restaurant, or order a taxi for their loved one — with the other person’s consent and without revealing personal data.

In our team, I was responsible for the dating direction: user flows, architecture, visual concepts, and UI kit.
In dating apps, a like often becomes a quick and almost random action: users collect reactions and matches, but do not always move to conversation.

The main mechanism of “active dating” was to replace the passive swipe-like with a first message, so users would not simply rate a profile, but move directly into communication. The task was to design a mechanic that makes interest more intentional and helps users move from attraction to dialogue faster.

Flow:
profile → first message → mutual interest → match → chat
Idea and task
Conducted a comparative analysis of key features in popular dating services, including likes, super likes, compliments, pre-match messages, profile structure, and interaction restrictions.

Identified that in most competing products, messaging works as an additional or enhancing feature. In [NDA] Date, the first message was defined as the main action around which the entire product logic was built.

Designed the full user journey: from registration and profile creation to profile browsing, sending the first message, forming a match, chatting, and working with the user profile, settings, and edge cases.
Research and product logic
I created 5 visual concepts for the project. The final version is based on a minimal interface, soft gradients, and a light imitation of a glass effect.

Visually, the goal was to keep the interface light and emotional, but not overload it with decorative effects. As a result, the final direction became soft, modern, and clean enough to keep the content and scenarios in focus.
Visual direction
The final MVP covers the main dating scenarios: profile creation, discovery, first message, match, chat, user profile, settings, and system states.

The dating components partially overlap with the main product design system, but also include their own scenario-specific elements, which became an extension of the core design system.

Further product development includes connecting all modules of the social platform: delivery services, taxi, booking, and other partner programs.
Final interface and UI kit
The final MVP covered the core dating journey: onboarding, profile creation, discovery, first message, match, and chat.

The key outcome was a product mechanic that shifts dating from passive profile evaluation to intentional first contact. This logic became the foundation for the module and created room for future ecosystem features, including date ideas, gifts, taxi, and restaurant booking.
